Egypt, Alexandria. Trajan. A.D. 98-117. AE drachm (34.53 mm, 17.79 g, 1 h). Alexandria mint, Struck A.D. 112/13. AVT T-PAIAN CЄB ΓЄPM ΔAKIK, heroic bust of Trajan right, drapery on left shoulder / Nilus standing, facing, head left holding serpent-entwined staff; behind him Alexandria standing facing, head left, crowning Nilus and resting on long scepter; in fields, LI - ς (= yr 16 = A.D. 112/13). Emmett 559. VF, dark brown-green patina with reddish deposits in recesses - attractive contrast. Scarce (Emmett frequency 3).
